Comprised of experienced musicians, the band exhibits levels of professionalism and musicianship that makes it easy to
become a dedicated fan. Unlikely Heroes was created with playing blues music in mind and to respect the tradition of the
blues but also push its contemporary boundaries as they infuse positive and encouraging lyrics.
Not only does the Unlikely Heroes play blues laden with Christian lyrics, but the band, led by singer songwriters Ted Fillhart
and Craig Glasheen, perform a variety of contemporary songs they have recorded and released on CD over the years.
Unlikely Heroes is a very diverse band that will bring a professional performance to you!
Music has the potential of connecting to someone in a very specific way – whether through dancing, laughter, tears or lyrics
that make someone stop and think. A few years ago recording artists Ted Fillhart and Craig Glasheen united together to
bring their music together. They are joined by some very talented Christian musicians, Bill Germiller on drums, Leighton
Wingerd on bass and Cheryl Chesser on vocals and percussion. Unlikely Heroes infuse many musical influences
to their perfomances that demonstrate an unusual, most enjoyable versatility. The band has played over the years as

MINISTRY MISSION STATEMENT:
Everyone needs compassion! Luke 10: 25 highlights the parable of the Good Samaritan who was an unlikely hero. That same love he demonstrated equips us to practice compassion that leads to healing and new life in community with God. It does this by awakening us to our common humanity. For you see, love empowers even the most timid to become unlikely heroes. The ultimate goal for the Unlikely Heroes is to use music to capture the attention of the audience for a moment and in that moment to point them to Jesus Christ!
What's an unlikely hero?
“The gospel reading about the Good Samaritan is more than just a fable about individual moral behavior. It is more than a tale about people doing what is right or wrong in a given situation. It is a story where everyone's humanity is subjected to examination and measured against the standard of compassion. Jesus' parable is a story about being healed and finding life in the midst of death. And what makes this story so memorable even to people who do not read the Bible, is that the parable of the Good Samaritan is about an unlikely hero.”
He finishes by saying, “Being an unlikely hero is not always easy. Perhaps that's why Jesus told the parable in the first place. Maybe it was his way of helping us to find the light of our humanity in the midst of the darkness of fear, mistrust and prejudice. In Jesus, the power of love overcomes all that keeps us from doing the right thing. The kind of love he teaches makes it possible to muster up the courage to venture out into those dark and dangerous places to care for God's people who've been assaulted and abandoned."
